Asia Carrera was born on August the 6th 1973 to a Japanese father, and a German mother. Her real name is Jessica Andrea Steinhauser. Asia is the oldest of four children. When Asia was 13 she played classical piano at Carnegie Hall, later she earned a full academic scholarship to Rutgers University, and she is a member of Mensa with her IQ of 156.
Her parents ran a strict home, and had high expectations of Asia regarding her studying and her grades. These high expectations were the cause of some troubled times for Asia, causing her to run away from home not long before her 17th birthday.
While working in a bar to support herself whilst at university, Asia was asked to do some extra work at a private party. For some Dutch courage she drank a lot of vodka. Before she knew it not only was she serving drinks topless, but she was up on the bar with the strippers. She earnt $300 that night, and was left with the feeling of wanting more of the same! It wasn't long before Asia was working 7 nights a week and saving $1000 a week.

In 1995 Asia won the AVN award for 'Female Performer Of The Year', and in 2000 she won the AVN 'Best Couples Sex Scene' award for a scene with James Bonn in the film 'Search For The Snow Leopard'.
She has a filmography of over 200 films that began in 1990 with the film 'Trouble Maker'. Most of Asia's more renowned work has been done for the studios Wicked, Route XX, and Vivid. In 1995 Asia added another string to her bow when she began writing some adult movies. Since then she has written and directed a handful of films beginning with writing 'A Is For Asia' in 1995, and directing 'Take 69' in 1997.
Since the start of her porn career Asia has had a number of plastic surgery operations, including a boob job that took her from a 36B to a 36C. She's also had 2 nose jobs and liposuction on her abdomen and thighs.
